Smell Like Royalty with Frankincense and Myrrh


Frankincense, anciently revered by royalty, was once considered to be more precious than gold. In contemporary times, it has been revealed to have numerous medicinal uses. When applied topically, it helps promote skin regeneration and keep existing cells and tissues healthy making it a great anti-aging therapy and treatment for acne, boils and scars. It’s a wonderful antiseptic, disinfectant and astringent whether the fume is inhaled or the oil is applied topically to the skin. Frankincense is warming with anti-tumor properties, stimulating to the immune system, and is calming to both the mind and digestive tract helping with anxiety and abdominal uneasiness. Myrrh is warming with anti-tumor effects and benefits depression, eczema, ringworm, and may normalize menstruation helping to relieve symptoms of PMS. Healthy Tips For A Trimmer Turkey Day

Let’s face it, most of us look forward to splurging on Thanksgiving, and possibly on the days that follow with all the leftovers. And what do we tend to do but skip breakfast and possibly even lunch thinking we’re saving the calories for the big feast. However, eating a small meal earlier in the day can give you more control over your appetite later and keep your metabolism revved so your body doesn’t go into starvation mode and hold on to all the fat and calories it can for survival.

We all need to learn to lighten up. Make your recipes healthier using less fat, sugar, and calories. Consider using fat-free chicken broth to baste the turkey, skip the gravy, use sugar substitutes in place of sugar and fruit purees instead of oil in baked goods. Reduce oil and butter whenever you can, but don’t substitute with margarine. Consider using Earth Balance – an organic buttery spread that’s free of the “bad fats.”

Try and select reasonable-sized portions of different food groups, and focus on the things that only come around once a year. Why fill up on the things you can have on any given day? Not So Fresh Air Fresheners
